Our new yard is full of bindweed, or morning glory, depending on who you ask. It creeps up from the swamp behind our house and under the yard, climbing and rolling over everything and causing my husband trouble. We try to be generally chemical-free outside, so these little vines of chaos often escape his wrath and pepper the yard with dainty, delicate white flowers in the morning. Hence the name, morning glory. They’re easy to pull up, but fiesty with fortitude, and grow back within two days or so. What would you do? I don’t have an answer to that question yet, but for now we have an uneasy truce where I ruthlessly yank them out of my garden bed but allow them to tendril and weave around the edges of the yard. So, do we have a bindweed problem or a morning glory blessing? It depends on who you ask.
