My 2025 Goals

My Goals for 2025: Ambitions, Adventures, and a Whole Lot of Grace

The start of a new year always fills me with excitement and a touch of trepidation. I love the idea of fresh starts, shiny planners, and lofty goals. But I’ve also learned over the years that any plan needs a hefty dose of flexibility—and a whole lot of grace. As I step into 2025, here are the goals I’m working toward, the dreams I’m daring to chase, and the reminders I’m holding close along the way.

Growing Spiritually

This year, I’m diving into the Bible Recap app with the goal of reading the entire Bible. I’ve always wanted to approach scripture with more consistency and context, and this plan breaks it down into manageable daily readings. It feels like a marathon, but one where every step matters more than the finish line. To be totally transparent, I’ve had this goal for a few years now and not yet achieved it, but I am committed to keep trying until I do.

Staying Active

Rebounding has been a surprising joy in my life, even if my first attempt lasted a grand total of 90 seconds! By the end of the year, I want to build up to rebounding for ten minutes straight.

Nourishing My Family

Learning to bake sourdough sandwich bread that my family will actually eat might be my Everest. I’ve mastered the crusty dutch-oven loaf, but this year, I’m determined to bake bread that’s soft, delicious, and kid-approved.

Homeschool and Creativity

I’m working on a literature curriculum for homeschoolers that weaves classic, seasonal, and diverse books into an engaging program. This is a passion project that’s been simmering for a while, and I can’t wait to see it take shape.

On the writing front, I have not one but two books to finish: a cozy mystery and a beginning reader chapter book. Both have been whispering for my attention, and this year, I’m listening. (Did you know I am a writer/illustrator? Here is a link to my books: CLICK HERE)

I also want to add some beauty to our home and lives: painting the downstairs bathroom, cultivating a productive garden, and creating a large-scale painting for our library. These projects are as much about the process as the outcome.

Cultivating Relationships

This year, I want to be intentional about connections. Each of my daughters will get a special mommy-daughter date, a chance to make memories one-on-one. My husband and I are also planning a weekend trip for our tenth anniversary to recharge and reconnect (without checking the homeschool schedule for once!). I want to prioritize movie nights with my amazing friends and hopefully a few coffee dates as well (kid-free!)

Learning and Exploring

I’m committing to 50 consecutive days of Duolingo Spanish lessons, and I’d love to finally say, “Estoy aprendiendo español” without hesitation.

For my inner bookworm, I’m aiming to read 100 books and track them on Goodreads. (Suggestions are always welcome!)

And because life is too short to eat the same meals over and over, I’m making it a point to try ten new restaurants. Who knows what culinary treasures we might discover?

Giving Myself Grace

These goals aren’t about perfection—they’re about showing up. Some will take discipline, others will require creativity, and all of them will teach me something along the way.

What are your goals for 2025? Whether they’re big, small, or somewhere in between, I’d love to cheer you on. Let’s make this year one of growth, joy, and a little bit of sourdough success.

About Me

Hello friend, my name is Katie and pizza is my favorite food. Yes, I’m in my thirties and yes, I have three daughters that I’m raising and homeschooling and nagging, but I think you’d be most interested to know that I would eat pizza for every meal of every day and never complain. There was a brief time (ages 8-11) when I thought that mashed potatoes was my favorite food, but I’ve since come around. That being said, I don’t only talk about pizza. Here you will find slices of homeschooling life, home decor, cooking, musings, and an occasional funny meme. In fact, I think you will find a shocking lack of pizza content as a whole, but now you know the truth: Pizza is always close to mind.
